How to use TWITTER for Personal Branding

Two years ago I had written a blog about How to use Facebook for Personal Branding and had totally forgotten about it until today.

So I decided to begin a series of blog wherein I will share a step by step guide about using different social media platforms to improve your personal branding and stand different from other people. Without further-a-do let's begin.

From the title you know what's going to be our topic of today it's about improving your personal brand using Twitter. There are a total of 7 steps and we are going to look at each one in detail beginning with the first one:-

1) Creating your Profile

The most important thing in the whole branding part is that you need a profile with a proper username which matches your company's background i.e. It's a tech company or a manufacturing company company etc.
Then comes the bio which should be filled with some keywords that will easily give your profile preference in search result of people when they will search for it. Do not mention birth dates or stuff, add the things that your company is famous for and the speciality about it.

2) Profile Picture

Now you may be thinking why I added this in the second point instead of mentioning it in the first point, but let me tell you that an appropriate profile picture will be required on all social media platforms which should be the same everywhere so that people can easily recognize you from it. The profile picture should not be changed consistently but once in three months.

3) Engaging with your audience

Ask questions that reflect you are an out-of-the-box thinker who pays attention to what is happening with their accounts, Over time, the social media teams will start to recognize your account.
Have a Q&A session with your followers once a month or two this will hold onto your followers and increase the faith in you.

4) Tweet articles related to your field and what your audience would like to read

You have opened a Twitter account for your company and are tweeting everything that would be helpful to boost your company's recognition, but other than that you should also retweet or share stuff which are related to your field and things that interest your followers which you will get to know if you follow step 3) and also check your old tweet's engagement look for the most number of engagements, with each tweet you will get to know your followers very well.

5) Following relevant people

When it comes to following people don't rush just to follow any random guy who just followed you or any celebrity that you like.
Follow the people who are famous in your field and try to retweet some stuff if you ever feel like it's great and should be there on your feed.

6) Creating Twitter list

Once you connect with a lot of people on Twitter, keeping track of everyone can get overwhelming. To keep your timeline under control, DePhillips suggests creating lists of different kinds of people you want to build relationships with.

7) Dealing with negativity

Not everyone who visits your Twitter handle would like it so your DM's or comment section sometimes may be filled with hate comments and this is true for every Twitter handle and some companies also try to sabotage so that your morale may get low and you may quit.
Never take them seriously as they are just being jealous of you and don't want anyone to overtake their position, take every hate comment as a challenge to reduce hate comments in your feed.

So looking back at the blog it feels like all the points to Improve personal branding are covered and you are now set to start one right away.
